Master Bedroom Refresh

shiplap wall

As I have shared before, we moved into our home one year ago. Since then we have been trying to make every space feel like us. In the beginning I tried to use everything I had on hand to make our new house feel like OUR home. The above picture with the thrifted desk was cozy, we enjoyed it, but it was time to turn the space into something we really loved.

We started with the DIY Shiplap wall, I'll share more about that later. My husband decided to tackle this project in one weekend. It was a quick simple project that changed the whole feeling of the room and didn't break the bank.

We have also been slowly painting our whole house. Since we were working on this room we painted the other walls a light gray like the rest of the house. Bye yellowy beige, we won't miss you! ;)

The inspiration for the whole room came from this Shibori wallpaper that I was given from Milton & King. I have been obsessed with anything indigo, navy, blues, etc. I decided to hang the pretty wallpaper like a piece of art in a simple white frame.

I have been known to over do it sometimes. I didn't want that to happen to this space, so I kept things simple, light and airy. I think the shiplap adds enough visual interest that I don't need to fill the room with extra "stuff."

Since we were already working on everything in this room, my husband decided to run the tv wires through the walls. It was a simple project that makes a huge difference. Everything looks more organized now.
Can we talk about this cute rug I got at Ross, of all places, for only $25. :O

I'll share the deets where everything else is from in another post. We had fun freshening up this space. We love hanging out in here now.

P.S. I know that first "before" picture is horrible quality. We are the worst home bloggers and forgot to snap before pictures before we moved in. So those came from our appraisal documents. Oops forgive us?

Thank you so much for stopping by! Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help you at all.
